I had a nother nice session in the estuary today, but things were back to
normal with just me out.
I got to the beach at around 8.30am and was greeted by a decent 18 knot
wind, but not really enough water, so I took a walk across the dunes. The
pristine dune that BEFS and I ruined the other day had re-established
itself. I know it sounds weird to go on about it, but it does look cool.
I then went back and rigged my 5.7m sail and Fanatic Cross 100 with a
smallish (30cm) fin and got out on the water. I was nicely powered up and
if anything overpowered to start with, but the wind gradually dropped off a
little and I had a good session on the flat waters of the estuary. Nothing
special, just blasting back and forth and trying some 360's. I didn't make
any of them, but I had fun trying. I seemed to get to the back-winded
position, nicely in control and had moved my front foot in front of the
mastfoot, but then just seemed to get stuck there, backwinded and
stopped!!!... Maybe I need more speed on the way in and a slightly tighter
turning arc to keep me carving aroud further??
SeanBo and Jane turned up at the beach but decided not to go out today. I
packed up as the tide was right in after about 3 hours on the water.
